Welcome! My name is Rachel Champa and I am an artist, wife, and mother of three boys, residing in New England.

My artistic journey began at the age of three, all thanks to my dad. I’d choose one of my many VHS tapes (this might be aging me!) and he would draw the cover on big easel paper. Afterwards, I would color in his drawings with crayons. Throughout my childhood, I continued to draw and eventually was introduced to another creative outlet - dance. I danced until my sophomore year of college and it was always a major part of my life. It wasn’t until high school that I was introduced to acrylic paint and fell in love with the medium - its flow, texture, and all the beautiful colors I could mix. In college I took a few drawing and art history classes, but received my bachelors degree in English.

After college, I taught high school English for nearly ten years. Watching my students create - with words, art, music, and technology, was my favorite part of the job. After a decade and a masters degree in Education, I left teaching to pursue the greatest job (and gift) of all - being a mother to my three boys (and lively dog, a Boykin Spaniel named Jace).

During naps and after the bedtime routine is when I get to create artwork that brings me joy and fills my cup - both in the process and in the end result.

As for the name “Sea & Linen” - I am drawn to the sea - its colors, in all seasons, in all light, and in all weather. There is nothing more captivating and inspiring than the ocean and its soothing color palette. And linen… You’ll find me wearing it and using it all over my home, as it is a beautifully natural, sustainable, and breathable fabric. All of my original paintings are done on linen or cotton canvas and paper.

Sun on my face, linen on my skin, and the sea before my eyes (in real life or in paint) is perfection to me. I hope my artwork and all things “Sea & Linen” bring you joy as well.

So glad you’re here!
